HOW-TO Install and Configure JBuilder 3.5

With Enhydra 2.3 and various other drivers

Assumptions:

• RedHat 6.1 Installed

• JDK 1.2.2-L (or better) Installed

Needed:

• JBuilder 3.5 Professional

• Enhydra 2.3 from www.enhydra.org

• Enhydra Kelp 1.1 - Add-in for JBuilder

• Oracle 8i JDBC Driver

Installation:

1. Install JBuilder 3.5 as directed on CD, BUT do not install the JIT compiler. It seems to cause an abend during compile.

2. Install Enhydra 3.5 as directed.

3. Install Kelp as directed (unzip/untar into /usr/local/jbuilder35).

4. When adding Enhydra and Kelp to JBuilder.config, use the following syntax order (rather than the reverse as listed in the directions):

           addpath /usr/local/enhydra/lib/enhydra.jar
           addpath /usr/local/jbuilder35/jb-kelp/lib/jb-kelp.jar
